I'm a NASM-certified Personal Trainer and Women's Fitness specialist, Precision Nutrition certified nutrition coach, an author ("HIIT It!" and "HIIT for Women"), the founder of fitnessista.com, and the voice behind the Healthy In Real Life podcast.
After 12 years in the fitness industry, women and clients constantly tell me that they struggle with time, consistency, and motivation. They know what to do, but have a hard time following it. Their routines were upheaved this past year when gyms closed and they lost the motivating atmosphere of their favorite classes. They hopped from plan to plan, without a consistent routine in place, that has left them feeling defeated.
I'm here to help you wade through all of the "noise" in the fitness industry and find simple solutions to make fitness a FUN, consistent, and rewarding part of your life. I've helped thousands of women all over the world experience muscle gains, fat loss, increased energy, confidence, and more enjoyment from their fitness routines.
I created the Fit Team program as a way to provide constant fitness options, effective workouts, mindset tips, and recipes with my inner circle who are ready to take their fitness to the next level and finally make it a consistent and rewarding part of life.
Hi! I'm Mia, a registered & licensed dietitian nutritionist. I currently reside in Largo, FL, but my roots are firmly planted in Charleston, SC. I specialize in a food as medicine approach to nutrition.
I enjoy helping people of all ages with digestive health issues, food allergies & intolerances, autoimmune conditions like Hashimotos and celiac disease, insulin resistance, infertility & PCOS, women’s hormones, menopause, and treating those with chronic inflammation. I am a functional medicine based RDN and focus on getting to the root cause of the issue with every client. Life is meant to be filled with health & vitality!
I believe in daily, functional movement and enjoy weight lifting and long walks with my family. In my spare time when I'm not working, I love hiking and camping, creating new concoctions in the kitchen, homeschooling my daughter and spending time with family. I have been married to my husband for 16 years and I have a 7 year old daughter named Caroline.
My first career started as a professionally-trained chef & pastry chef. I've worked in restaurants, bakeries, and owned my own bakery specializing in made to order, allergy-friendly baked goods. I first became interested in nutrition after receiving countless requests from clients for dietary advice.
I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado. I have worked in the hospitality industry for close to 18 years and have worked as an RDN for the past 10 years, working in hospitals, schools, private practice and for top online fitness & nutrition companies.
